BioEnergetic Medicine

The Many Dimensions treated by BioEnergetic Medicine

BioEnergetic medicine is sufficiently mature to be incorporated into standard medical practice.

Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, August-Sept, 2002, by Dr. Hartwig Schuldt

This material was presented at the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research and cybernetics at their meeting in Baden Baden, Germany on August 2-7, 2000 where Dr. Schuldt was one of the panelists.

Standard medicine in most developed countries is highly regulated and expensive whether this relates to individual complaints on price or to governments’ trouble in financing national health programs. Bioenergetic medicine offers enormous cost savings by its non-invasive, fast, reliable diagnosis as well as selection of treatment and, especially, a better recovery for those afflicted. This system, as an informative method in diagnosis and therapy, has reached sufficient maturity to be incorporated into standard medical practice.

In the operation of a busy medical clinic, time is an important factor. It is imperative that diagnosis be achieved not only accurately but with efficiency. Therefore, I found it necessary in bioenergetic medicine to reverse the process of establishing the diagnosis in that communication with the patient is given first priority. That is to say, diagnostic tests with the instrument are conducted according to the patient’s own description of his health or complaints or observations to confirm or discard the statements obtained. On the basis of this, therapy is planned. Following this regimen a multitude of symptoms disclosed by patients can be transformed into proper homeopathic prescriptions. This is very precise and, by re-affirmation, fully complies with the requirements of holistic medical practice.

The term bioenergetic medicine was used years ago by various practitioners of medical treatment outside the mainstream, such as physiotherapists and psychologists. In such fields the term seems a little displaced since it applies only indirectly. When using electrical current as a means of intervention with the body’s own energy, the term bioenergetic is justified and most appropriate.

This modality has developed steadily over the past 40 years. Bioenergetic medicine, which refers to the body’s energy and its intervention from outside, developed from electro-acupuncture in a stepwise manner as my work proceeded. While electro acupuncture concentrated chiefly on the anatomical location of a symptom or disease, bioenergetic medicine is based on physiology and patho-physiology. By measuring the body’s micro energy the skilled diagnostician can determine the precise nature of a disease as well as select the most appropriate therapy. With the measuring device, a portable instrument, the presence of pathology can be determined even before the onset of overt symptoms, thus, to The patient’s observation, preventing disease. Also, followup care during recovery can be adapted quickly and inexpensively to the individual’s needs. Many diseases termed cured by standard diagnostic procedures are found to leave residual pathology amenable to removal by this technique, resulting in a healthier patient

Bioenergetic medicine is an analytic method. As it is precise and well-defined, the clinician does not have to resort to randomized procedures of which there are plenty. Bioenergetic medicine facilitates certainty as to where an adverse agent has its targets of aggression upon the biologic system. That is, one pathologic agent can be spotted on a number of points on the surface of the skin thus giving a clear resolution of where it acts or interacts in the body. Likewise, many remedies can be associated to receptive organs according to the response on the measuring points. Frequently, in orthodox medicine when a disease is not amenable to treatment, its course can be directed and regulated by this art to a successful remission. This applies to forms of cancer, multiple sclerosis, forms of asthma, skin problems, cardiac disease, and psychic derangement for which standard medicine offers little. It also applies to hormonal diseases, pre-natal problems, old age disturbance etc. Instead of citing such health problems under their Customary names, in bio-energetic medicine one can refer to them under the afflicted organ, or organ system, as seat of the disease as determined with the aid of the measuring instrument. For example, rather than diagnosing a headache one can diagnose a specific throat disturbance which has, incidentally, manifested itself only as a headache. For these and many other chronic diseases bioenergetic medicine has progressed to a systematic and rewarding approach which orthodox medicine has yet to accomplish.

Energetic Potential of the Body

First and foremost there has to be a fundamental understanding of the nature of bioenergetic medicine. Essentially, it deals with the energetic potential of the body This is hard to define, just as it is hard to define the force of gravity that acts on all matter on earth, about which we speak knowledgeably but still cannot completely elucidate. The energetic force of the body can be verified by evidencing its various forms of emanation in addition to different and repeatable modes of intervention. The meridians known from classical acupuncture, are actually lines of condensation of the body’s force field, comparable in some respect to similar evidence on the surface of the earth, as I taught many years ago. (1) Most acupuncture points in addition to being openings for shifting the body’s energy are areas of exchange with the environment as I defined in earlier publications. The information obtainable from these points is in close reference to internal organs of the body. This can best be exemplified by the evidence of point discharges that occur on elevated peaks, known from physics, also referred to as peak discharges. This occurs for instance on fingers, toes, ears, nose etc. Thus, the entire system of acupuncture which is chiefly concerned with the shifting of the body’s energy, can be performed exclusively on the ear. Paul Nogier of France became specially known for his work in this manner, also for bringing this ancient knowledge of the East to Western attention.

Fortunately, today one can talk openly about bioenergetic medicine without the former confrontation from under-informed alarmists, a welcome development. Furthermore, other alternative health subjects such as Reiki, Prana healing etc. have also gained an acceptance from a wider public. These and other alternative health therapies previously banned, have likewise contributed to a better understanding, even a wider vision and definition of health.

Bioenergetic medicine is a concise and repeatable method referable in many aspects to standard medical applications and devices. It is located so to speak, between ancient philosophy and modern technical instrumentation, yet with a preponderance of systematic medical action. A very strong accomplishment of bioenergetic medicine is that erroneous and doubtful diagnoses can be minimized to a very small fraction by efficient cross-checking and reaffirming.
